Where's my message? I sent it a long time ago.

Instructions for Sympa users on where to look for their email message.

Sending an email via Sympa is not instantaneous. You should not expect to send your message one minute and have it show up in your Inbox two minutes later. It's worth keeping in mind that your message is one of thousands being sent via our list hosting server at any given time.

If you haven't received a message that you sent to your list, and it's been more than 30 minutes since you sent it, check the following things before contacting us:

  1. Check your spam/junk mail folder in your email program. Messages can get tagged as spam by your email server, or your email program, so look there first.
  2. Look in the list archives; if the message is there, then Sympa has delivered the message. 99.99% of the time this means that the delivery problem happened after the message left the Sympa server, which is beyond our control to do anything about.
  3. Ask a colleague or friend who is on the list if they've received the message. If they have, then the problem is likely related to #1 above.

If you've tried all of those things and still haven't figured out what happened to your message, please feel free to contact us using our web support form.
