Overview

Adapters control what happens to the form data that your site visitors submit. The two most common adapters are the Mailer Adapter and the Save Data Adapter. The Mailer Adapter will send form submissions to an email address. The Save Data Adapter will save the results in your Form Folder so that you can export any time you wish. You can even use adapters concurrently to get the functionality of both.

Configuring the Mailer Adapter

The Mailer Adapter is probably the more complex of the two adapters covered in this tutorial. As such, we won't go through and explain all the options present in the Mailer Adapter. However, we will cover probably the most important aspect: choosing the email address to send results to.

Your Form Folder should already have a Mailer Adapter, but if not, simply click Add Item and select Mailer Adapter from the drop-down list.

Once you have added the Mailer Adapter, navigate to the adapter. You'll know you're looking at the Mailer Adapter itself when you see something like this:

Editing the Adapter

Now click Edit in the toolbar

From here you can do three things: Change the Title of your Mailer Adapter (really no reason to), choose a recipient name and email address.

Additional Recipients

Go ahead and push Save at this point. You'll be taken back to the summary view with your new changes included.

If you want to add additional recipients, click on Edit once again.

Now notice the links just under Edit Mailer Adapter that say [default][addressing] and so on. Click on [addressing].

You may now add CC and BCC recipients to the Mailer Adapter. You can see that there are other options here too (Extract from . . .) but in order to make use of them you must have some programming know-how. It's probably best to contact us if you want to make further customizations.

That's it!

Now every time someone fills out and submits a form, an email with a summary of their entries will be sent to the email address(es) you provided.
